About this property

Welcome to Devonshire Arms

Devonshire Arms is a traditional inn located on Grassington Road in Cracoe, near Skipton. Combining the features of an inn, bed & breakfast, pub, and restaurant, it offers guests en suite rooms alongside a beamed bar and a wood-panelled dining area. The restaurant serves seasonal dishes, which have been noted for their quality by visitors, some of whom highlight the inn’s standing as a candidate for gastropub status.

Facilities include a welcoming atmosphere with a roaring fire in the bar and thoughtful touches such as a shared fridge stocked with fresh milk and bottled water for each room. Guest reviews mention comfortable beds with quality bedding and a breakfast offering that includes traditional items; however, opinions suggest the morning meal is good but not exceptional. The inn is dog-friendly and LGBTQ+ friendly, supporting a diverse range of visitors.

Situated close to popular attractions such as Malham Cove, Skipton Castle, and Bolton Abbey, Devonshire Arms is well placed for those interested in sightseeing and outdoor recreation. With a location easily reached from Leeds Bradford Airport (approximately 45 minutes by car) and other regional airports, the inn suits travellers seeking access to the Yorkshire Dales and nearby heritage sites.

Among nearby accommodation options, guests might also consider local B&Bs and inns within a few miles, but Devonshire Arms stands out for its classic style and combination of pub and dining experiences under one roof. Check-in starts at 15:00, and check-out is by 11:00, providing a standard schedule for visitors.

Stunning food - richly deserves its AA Culinary Excellence Rosette awards last year and 2024. Definitely a contender for ‘Gastropub’ status. Proper olde style country pub, dog friendly (though we ate in the bar, so possibly not in the main restaurant) with welcoming roaring fires. Although it is empty in the pictures they were taken the next morning (as we stayed in the car park overnight in our motorhome…for which they also have EHU hookups for £15).

What a find! Popped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago on our way to Skipton. The welcome couldn't have been warmer, lovely friendly atmosphere, great menu and food and husband was delighted with his beer. We'll definitely be back.

This is a place we like to head for, as it’s a nice drive beautiful surroundings & my Mum & Dad love it. Normally go for cream teas & they do do a fantastic fresh gluten free scone. Great service, good atmosphere, great in the summer outside, great in the winter inside on a comfy sofa.

Lots of nice touches to improve your stay. Fresh milk & bottles of water kept in a shared fridge for each room. Nice toiletries Comfy bed with quality bedding Breakfast was good not quite great. Nice toast, one rasher of bacon, one sausage, slice of black pudding, one mushroom one whole tomato plus our choice of scrambled egg. We probably should've asked for our bacon & sausage to be crispy / well cooked. Easy location on road out of Skipton. Our room was at the back & was very quiet. Unfortunately our shower changed from freezing to scalding & back again within nanoseconds making it unusable.

Recommended by another motorhome site. We stayed for 1x night. Booked EHU for £15 and dined in the pub. We had a lovely quiet evening. The landlord kindly helped us out with some water too for the MH as our tap was frozen back home. Very welcoming, cosy pub. We're 7.5m long & no issues with the car park either. Dog Friendly. We had breakfast up the road at the farm shop / country kitchen & that was cracking too!
